I found some willing participants to practice my portrait photography.

She was a very nice client, but she still hasn't paid for her session.  Ugh!

He was a little more difficult to capture.  He just would not look into the camera! Men!

 

So I decided to turn the corner and enter the 21st century.

Beautiful Bride to Be

What a lovely family!

It was so comforting to be around such a great group of ladies for my 

good friend Stacy's bridal shower. 

Beautiful ladies...inside and out!

Good friends + Good food= Awesomeness.

Good Friday

Barns make me HAPPY!

I like thinking about the family that built it.

I like thinking about all the summers it has provided shade, and the winters it has stood tall and proud.

To me, they look like people.

Some are happy, some are sad, but they all have character.

While visiting my sister in Indiana last summer, 

I had to stop and capture these beauties before they fall down completely.

Oh, and grass is pretty cool too...

My little helper

It's day two of painting the ceiling in my living room.

It's boring white.

I have more paint in my hair than what's actually on the ceiling.

It's 80 degrees in the house.

I'm a sweaty pig.

I spilled about 2/3 rds of the paint.

It landed on the sheet, phew!

But at least I have my little helper...

Mi Cocina Monday

Ingredients for Homemade Taquitos:

-Trader Joe's Salsa Verde
-Shredded chicken breast
(I cooked it in the crock pot with seasonings, I really don't remember what all I threw in there...I guess what's in the picture and more...)
-corn tortillas
-hot oil
-toothpicks
-love


These are SO good when they're homemade and very easy to make. Your hard working man that LOVES mexican food will like it a lot!

I promise you.

You can also whip up homemade guacamole...Just avocados and more seasonings:
hot sauce
cumin
cayenne
salt & pepper

There's a theme here, can you tell?

Let's get started:

Heat up canola oil nice and hot in a skillet
On a hot griddle with a little butter, warm up tortillas
Stuff tortillas with chicken, not too much or else they fall apart
Wrap up and hold in place with toothpicks
Place in hot oil until crispy
The meat is cooked, so you just need lightly browned crispy tortillas.

It's yummy, filling, and easy!
